I want to get another Cat

I am missing Pye dreadfully and really miss having a house cat -- if you know of anyone giving away a cat or kitten -- I would love to have one. Doesn''tt matter as to age or color but I would like a girl one if possible.

Now that sets like a lead balloon with you know who, but who cares?

He doesn't approve of moost of what I do anyway.

Yadda, Yadda, Yadda and Memories

Nick is not speaking to me at present, which is a god send! Has something to do with me threating to throw him off the balcony onto his head.. it's been yadda, yadda, yadda this hurts, that hurts all day long. And then he said he wished I could help him get rid of the pain -- that is when I offered my solution.

For a fact, my skin has been hurting me all day long and I never opened my mouth about it.

Since there is so little going on around here -- I thought I would take someone elses advice and leave a few memories on the blog for you all.

This post will be about TV. I bet you didn't know that TV wasn't invented until the year I was born 1948.

My family didn't get a TV until I was 10 years old, but the babysitter we had when I was 8 had one and we got to watch it after school each day.

At that time, the stations only broadcast from 4 pm until midnight, and the first show on at 4 pm was the Mickey Mouse Club. I can remember being really ticked when some old bald guy took the time period up one week debating another old guy. I was only 8 and not interested in who was running for president then. The old bald guy was Dwight David Eisenhower and he would be elected that year.

When my family finally got a TV, it was an older one -- a big console and a little round porthole type screen. Black and white as color hadn't come out yet. Us kids didn't get to choose the programs, John did-- so we ended up watching westerns or war programs.

We had a console radio/record player in a cabinet -- that was our main form of entertainment as the radio programs were still doing the serials and soaps. Green Hornet, the Lone Ranger, Mystery Theater were the favorites with Steve and I.

Later I will talk about how we entertained ourselves out of doors.

TimesThat Try Ones Soul

Before I get into this entry, I want to make one thing clear, and that is the only reason I am staying with Nick is that I promised him I wouldn't let him die alone.

That being made clear, I want one to know that there are times he can really be cruel. And he says I am cruel.

Well, you would never hear me tell one things like he said to me when my cat was dying! Let's put her out by the trashcan and call animal control and tell them theres a sick cat dying there. How about I put him out by the trashcan when he's dying and call the coroner!

Pye was my friend and you don't abandon your friends when they are dying. She died here with me right by her side petting her and talking to her. And that is as it should be.

People like Nick are the reason I only trust animals. What he said just made my grief that much worse.

And it also firmed my resolve to open myself a savings account. It's too late for Pye but I will never be so broke again I can afford to have a suffering animal of mine to sleep!

And the reason I end up broke most of the time is because Nick can't seem to manage his money and is always asking me what I have left in my purse, or checking account.

The Quiet Life

Been a quiet life here. Finally got my stomach under control. Nick was griping about how to make a grocery list when I have so many food allergies. As I told him, you don't go for the negative, you go positive. What can I eat without problems, when he did that he came up with a full page of grocerys.

I finished the baby dress, now to start on the diaper cover. Only thing I don't like about crocheted baby clothes is they look homemade. I am not so sure that anyone would want them, even a poor mother with no baby clothes.

Not much else happening here--repotted my plant, but need to crochet a hanger for the pot since the plant is a type of ivy.

Well all for now.

Curses, Curses, Curses

I must be the most cursed female on earth! We didn't get anything done Saturday, as I was dooky blasting the apartment. Sunday, I was fine, we went and got the laundry done.

So we figured, good, today we will do the marketing. Bad move. I had no sooner got into the store, than I am doubled up with stomach pains. Between a less than bright clerk and the fact he neglected to mention we needed a quarter to use the bathroom, there was a major accident!

I dooky blasted the ladies room floor, toilet and my shorts. I washed out my shorts in the sink -- and put them back on, soaking wet so that I could at least get back to the apartment.

Turns out that the margarine Nick bought is made of soybeans -- and I am allergic to soy in any form.

The rest of the day has been uneventful, except that I am tired of eating white rice, which is all they recommend when one has these problems.

Except for one little hitch that is -- when I got back from the market all I wanted was a hot shower so I could clean up -- forgetting the water was off due to repairs on the lines.

Curses, foiled again. Finally got my shower mid-afternoon. I hope this trend doesn't continue or I am going to invest all my spare money (ha ha) in Kaopectate or Imodium D stock!!!

I think we need an exorcism here.

Great, now the curse is attacking me -- been sick all day today with projectile diarhhea. Let me tell you, I am tired of cleaning walls, floors, bathrooms and my clothing of that mess.

And Nick is having trouble with Walen since he doesn't like Nick too much. NicK takes him outside to go to the restroom and he turns around and runs back upstairs to the apartment.

So nothing got accomplished today and this was supposed to be grocery shopping day. Oh well, rice for dinner for me and herb tea and Nick can have the fried chicken and rice we planned on.

Quiet Day

Day was quiet and not too productive, since the darn dsl went down and it too ik ATT all day to get around to it. They had better get on the ball, the Time Warner Cable company is waiting in the wings for our business! And since I am the one paying the phone bill, I will get nasty!

I did finally get the contests done. I had started crocheting a dress for Ariminta Rebecca but didn't like it and have decided to make something else of the yarn. Don't know what yet but I will think about it. Might buy Ariminta a new dress in the baby section instead.

Nick is cooking dinner and I guess I should help him, since the smoke alarm just went off. He mananged to do that this morning with pancakes also.

I hope whatever the curse was at those apartments, that it ended with Pye's death and not followed us here.

Bought two cake pan's at the store, and a package of cake mix and frosting. Think I will get on the ball tomorrow and make a cake, if there isn't any errands to do.

Well it is dinner time and I know so, because the smoke alarm just went off again.

Tomorrow, then.

Farewell Old Friend

My old friend died tonight at 7 p.m. I will miss her always, she was a good cat, never asking for anything more than a petting. Go with God, my dear Pyewacket and wait for me in eternity -- I will join you when it's my time, and will expect you to meet me when I cross over.

Your friend and companion, Sandy

Sitting Up with a Dying Friend

I have spent most of the day, sitting with a dying friend. Her name is Pyewacket and she is my cat. It seems as if that place where my son lives, has a curse on it. First Ami, my dog runs away and can't be found, then my husbands truck is towed away, now my cat is dying of something she contracted over there.

She was perfectly healthy in California before, and never sick in West Virginia, nor sick when we lived in the motel. But after a few days at my sons place, her kidneys fail and she catches a cold.

Makes me glad we didn't rent an apartment over there as planned. I would probably have lost Nick and Walen to disease over there too!!!

She is still breathing and her heart is beating -- and she can hear me, for she tries to crawl to where she hears my voice, so I have sat down beside her and petted her so she will know I am with her.

I wish God would either cure her or take her home, it hurts so much to see her suffering. I don't have the money even for a vet to put her to sleep.

All for now, I will go back to sitting and petting my friend.

And We are On Again

ATT finally bestirred their butts and got our phone service up and running and only 3 days late!!!

Yesterday, we went to Wal-Mart and got two air beds and linen for them. Made the beds up after inflating them. It was heaven after sleeping on the floor here, which by the buy seems to be cement with just rug padding and rug over top it.

I did have some trouble getting to sleep, my feet were cold which I suspect was due to the foot of my bed being under the window. I turned the bed along the wall, so I will see what happens tonight.

Did half of the contest, and caught them all up thru todays. Will do the others after tomorrows come on at nine pm.

I haven't been all idle, keeping my journal up and working on some dishcloths for the kitchen.

Next thing I need is a desk for my laptop. At present I am working on the floor, with the black chair Jim gave us, pressed into service as a desk for the moment. However due to the wonders of wi-fi, I can work any where in the apartment. Even in bed.

Thanks to both of my children for their willingness to help us get moved into here, I really appreciated their help. Above and beyone the call of duty -- and Kathy volunteered to pick up the dorm fridge we are purchasing from wal-mart.

Well, all for my first blog back.
